Real-Time Transaction Processing Engineer
Location: Los Altos, CA
Job Description
ThreatMetrix is looking for an engineer who understands transaction processing in real-time with fault tolerance. Collaboration is a key principle in the way we develop software. Position Objectives
- Increase the scalability and reliability of our real-time transaction processing system
- Increase the breadth of our fraud detection platform through feature enhancements
- Increase the overall effectiveness of the engineering team through personal contribution to the continuous improvement effort
Position Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test specific features as directed by ThreatMetrix product management
- Improve reliability and scalability of our product through architectural improvements and refactoring. Maintain, refactor, and extend existing code base while minimizing disruption to existing installed customer base.
- Work in cross-functional teams in an agile/acrum environment to produce features that pass acceptance criteria
- Conduct and participate in code reviews. Participate in an agile/scrum team including iteration planning, story and task estimation, daily stand-up meetings, and iteration retrospectives

- Conversant in modern software development skills and terminology (e.g., design patterns, unit testing, code reviews, continuous integration, etc.)
Required Experience
- Five or more years’ experience with C/C++
- Five or more years’ experience with Unix/Linux
- Five or more years’ multi-cultural and capable of working on more than one project simultaneously
- Ability to work alone and in small teams
- Aversion to technical and code debt for real time, embedded, or transaction systems experience with object-oriented development
- Experienced with developing a real-time transaction processing system
- Must have been significantly involved in the development of at least two successfully completed products

Job Description
This is an inside role reporting to the vice president of global sales and business development. The candidate should be able to successfully build pipeline through outbound efforts and bring deals to closure. This position requires the ability to determine and contact all relevant decision makers and influencers within the different functional areas of the organization: operational, managerial, technical, and executive. Should be capable of investigating potential customer problems and drivers, articulating value proposition in person and over the phone, and negotiating business terms and contracts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 5-7 years of professional experience; ideal candidate would have software and/or network security background
- Solid work history with continued employment of 2+ year stints at past companies
- An energetic self-starter who is capable of quickly building a strong pipeline of potential business
- Must be results-driven and capable of delivering consistent, ongoing new business
- Demonstrable history of accurate forecasting and quota achievement

Location: New York, NY
Job Description
This is an outside role selling to financial services companies. The candidate should have an outstanding track record of selling security solutions into financial services and other related verticals. A fundamental understanding of strategic sales, sales best practices, and proven success selling security software to financial services is required. Should be able to determine and contact all relevant decision makers and influencers within the different functional areas of the organization. Should be capable of investigating potential customer problems and drivers, articulating value proposition in person and over the phone, and negotiating business terms and contracts. Based out of New York, New York. This is not a telecommuting position.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in business or related field
- 5-10 years of direct sales experience and a proven track record managing and overachieving on quota
- Documented success of complex sales/solution sales in a face-to-face/outside role
- Experience selling software/SaaS security or online fraud prevention solutions
- Comfortable reaching out via phone and/or email to target (“cold”) prospects and conducting high-level business and/or technology discussions with them
- Excellent oral and writing skills; experience in creating and responding to RFIs, RFPs, etc.
- An energetic self-starter with a consultative sales approach who is pro-active in increasing sales revenue
